  1. How long has your company been in the home care industry?

    We have been in the home service/home care industry for over 16 years.

  2. What service do you provide?

    We provide live in care (daily rate) and come and go (hourly rate) services.

  3. What are the home service workers duties?

    The home service worker will assist with activities of daily living and help with tasks that are not strictly medical in nature. Such tasks include assistance with bathing, assistance with dressing, medication reminder and providing companionship to the client.

  4. Are your home care services covered by private insurance and Medicare?

    Depending on your policy’s benefits, Private Pay or Long Term Care insurance is acceptable.

  5. Can I change or discontinue the services my loved ones receives?

    Yes, please allow 7 days in advance for cancellation and any changes in services, unless other arrangements have been made prior to start of service.

  6. Do I need a physician’s authorization for your services?

    No, but for clients have long-term care insurance, a physician’s plan of care is required by your insurance company.

  7. Are your caregivers insured and bonded?

    The agency carries liability insurance and bond. New home service workers undergo 4 hours of training and 8 hours of additional training is required annually including CPR and hospice training.

  8. Will I be free to choose the right caregiver to come and work in my home?

    Yes, you may interview the caregiver or skilled worker prior to placement.

  9. Do I pay the caregiver directly?

    No, please make your check or money order payable to Alternative Home Care, Ltd. and mail it to our office at: 634 North Cass Ave., Westmont, IL 60559 We also accept all major credit cards.

  10. How can I verify a work shift has been completed?

    For hourly, come-and-go service, the home care provider will fill a time slip of the services rendered and will provide a copy for the client’s records. The original will be submitted to the agency within two weeks time.

  11. Can a caregiver help with medications?

    The home care provider can remind the client of medication times.

  12. How is the privacy of my personal information maintained?

    All staff professionals are trained with HIPPA privacy law. The home care providers signed HIPPA privacy agreement. The staff is trained with HIPPA law to understand privacy and security regulations.

  13. If my caregiver needs a day off, will I have a replacement?

    Yes, in the event that the home care provider takes personal days off, we will send a reliever to cover the gaps in time shifts. Please allow a week notice so we can find the right home service worker.

  14. Can I receive 24-hour care and support from the company?

    A 24-hour service number is available, including holidays. A representative will respond immediately to address your needs as soon as possible. You can call our office at (630) 971-0778.
